How do I get pictures off of a DVD? - thanks section of wedding program

It gave me my wedding photos from a seller on DVD. It installs into chapters and each chapter contains sections in which each image is 5 seconds long played, and I was beaten and then go to another. I want these images to the DVD. Taking screenshots do not seem to work consistently, and I prefer a way to find extract images from DVDs.

Is there a free software that you can use it? Is it possible to pirate DVDs?
